170 University Ave W N2L 3E9,
Hi Urooj! We use beef or chicken stock~ Feel free to give us a call anytime if there was a specific dish you had in mind. ? Thanks so much for your question and we look forward to serving you! ☀️
The service is always fast and friendly. The prices are reasonable. Their dishes are delicious. The spicy noodles the bibimbab and today the spicy pork bone was fantastic! So flavourful and hearty and filling. I enjoyed every bite with the side dishes. Yum!
Most of their dishes are underwhelming but their pork bone soup is good. I would like to give this place more since I used to enjoy it so much before, but there are better places nearby. In terms of service, they are very nice and welcoming.
Amazing service! The food is always fresh and tasty. Every time we go we are treated like family. We have also ordered through Uber eats and the food was fresh and super warm. Highly recommended!
The food was so delicious!
I don't know why this place has such low rating when the food is so hearty and delicious. I've been coming to Seoul Seoul for 10 years now from when I've was a student to now. It's my favorite Korean restaurant and their pork bone soup is the best! They gave you huge portions and it's a cute mom and pop restaurant. Good customer service too!
We have tried this place 3 times so far and it’s been amazing. Food tastes really good, good portion sizes, reasonably priced, and very friendly service.
The food is good but a bit pricey... Also kimchi is not very satisfying :(But the potato side dish is awesome.
Good Korean fare. Just wish they served the meat dishes with the typical lettuce and perilla leaves for wrapping the meat. Pickled daikon would be a welcome addition as well. Otherwise, pretty authentic food overall. Sure do wish they had shabu shabu (샤브샤브) though! :-D
Bad food, preheated and served $15 for a breaded chicken with plain rice. No taste not fresh. Do yourself a favour and save money. Avoid this place. The chicken found at food basics for like 20 piece for $10..that’s what they serve you.
My favourite restaurant in all of Waterloo!! Just ordered their new Seoul Chicken and it’s amazing!
Large selection of great dishes but the star of the show is the Potato side dish served with your meal. I recommend any of the lunch specials but especially the spicy pork!
Service is really good, waitress was friendly. Food is tasty, cheap, and portions are plentiful.
Food is 9/10, service was great, The owner at the cash register is the only depressing thing about this restaurant. I have a feeling she takes all the tips too.
*Does not accept credit* Food, service and atmosphere could have been a lot better. Had to return one dish of udon and seafood because there was hardly any seafood. I had to get up to get my own fork because waiter was chatting. Was sitting next to a TV and the volume was obnoxiously loud. I likely won't return.
I really love the potatoes that come with their side dishes. Best potatoes in all the Korean food places in the area in my opinion. Other dishes are good, pretty large portions for a reasonable price.
Extremely quick and very polite service. Food was excellent and served fresh. Side dishes are wonderful and pair well with just about any dish at the restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, played Korean music videos which were entertaining (pretty interesting lol). I'd definitely recommend coming to eat here with a small or large group of friends.
Never had Korean food before. This place did not disappoint! Loved all the unlimited side dishes. The sauce on the potatoes is to die for.
Average korean restaurant but the potato side dish is sooo good. Would go just for that.
New menu korean style chicken, strongly recommended
I was a student and came here 2 years ago. Service was terrible the time I went with my friend. And food was overpriced and mediocre at best. I had an altercation with the restaurant owner because she straight up demanded higher tip from both my friend and I in the most rude manner possible, which I thought was straight up bizarre behavior coming from a restaurant owner. After that I never went back to the restaurant even once. This restaurant is also situated in an unfortunate location of "student ghetto" along with many other low quality, overpriced restaurants. So yeah don't come here.
It was absolutely great. The customer service, the food! The potatoes! I loved the experience. Definitely going back!
The four stars are only because of the pork bone soup and the potato side dish. I go here often and I've almost always had great service. The rest of the dishes are not something I would really appreciate but the pork bone soup is fantastic.
Reuse of food(garbage food)The place is pretty dirtyForced tipping so rudeWorst service This is worst restaurant I have ever been to.-☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Seoul Soul is so cute - I love their gamja tang and potatoes! I come here all the time and it never disappoints. Great for a fairly fast an inexpensive meal
Their potato side is pretty good.
Portion is small given the price. "For two" hot pots are realistically only good for 1.5 top. What's worst though is the service. It's much understaffed which leads to nonexistent service. And the cashier (or manager?) is the rudest, most unreasonable I've ever seen. This restaurant could only exist because students on campus have nowhere else to go.
Recently ordered their Seoul Chicken and Kimchi Fried Rice. Loving their new dishes and hands down, they have the BEST potato side dish. I come in just for those potatoes sometimes. Cute mom and pop restaurant with friendly workers~
The food was definitely pre-made and reheat when we placed our orders. The look on the food was old and also tasted old. The best part of our meal was the tea.
There wasn't much service... especially when they don't accept credit card but have their machines set at 13% default tip... the waitress was attentive to get us our order and food, but never saw her again until we walked up to pay. The soup looked ok but had almost no flavour. The picture in the menu looked like there would be larger shrimps but it didn't come with any big ones. The bulgogi was ok. Not sure how I feel about the utensils just sitting out in boxes where people can just grab them with their hands... wouldn't recommend for the price.
I used to go for their pork pone soup and their galbi but now I'm obsessed with their Korean Fried chicken!!!
Love the Jaeyuk Bokkeum ( spicy pork on rice ). Great restaurant
Came for the Korean Pork Bone Soup only. The broth had a good level of spice and decent flavour. There was a bit of a weird (subtle) smell from the food at first that went away. The soup had plenty of meat and it all came off the bones super easy. Like, the easiest I've ever experienced. I was also pleased the soup had a potato in it like it's supposed to. The rice was good. The side dishes had good portions, but they were a bit disappointing (the kimchi especially needs to be better). Overall not a bad experience, would come here for soup again.
Ordered tangsuyuk today and was pleasantly surprised with an added dish of their new chicken dish for me to try out as well free of charge. Very thankful to try out their new chicken dish, dare I say it was addicting to eat!The tangsuyuk was equally as tasty!
Had the "fire" chicken. For around $14 all I got was a few pieces of chicken and just a ton of cabbage. If the dish tasted good I wouldn't have minded, but it was just so bland and boring. Plus the food came out in less than 5 minutes, which means it's premade and microwaved before serving. Compared to other places in the plaza this place is way overpriced and atmosphere isn't as good. Also, while paying, I paid by my reward card, and the lady (manager?) at the front didn't want me paying by it, which she told me AFTER I had swiped. The machine accepted the payment but she was mad at me because she had to pay fees to the card company. That's poor customer service, getting mad at me for using a card I have not only used at 3 different places in the plaza, but outside as well. And I'm using a regular reward card, not some illegal payment method that you're refusing to accept it.Overall a bad experience and won't be back again. There are much better options available.
Food was decent, but definitely reheated and not cooked fresh. Service was pretty okay too.
Very enjoyable. The potato side is worth the trip all alone. Savoury and sweet. I found the staff helpful and friendly. They were very patient with my inability to speak Korean. Regulars came and went while I listened to KPop and ate my yummy noodle and rice dish. Very few vegetarian options, but that is not a complaint. Decor is simple and that is great. I faced none of the challenges posted by others and will attend again when back in town.
Easily the worst place in the plaza. I don't even want to recall the memories required to review this place.
Took a chance despite the rating and was not disappointed one bit, truly outstanding food and service. Ordered four different plates from here, each one was better than the other. Best Asian food I’ve had in kw by far. Nice place and nicer peopleðŸ‘ðŸ»
Had the spicy pork with cheese. It was tasty. Service was excellent.
A poor performance in a sea of places with poor performance. Even for the plaza, you can do much better.
Delicious food! Had the #7 (can't pronounce name) and it had a very tasty broth! Would eat here again.
I absolutely love the pork bone soup and the JapChe is a new favorite. The sides are delicious and they will refill them for you in a hurry. The staff are friendly and we love going back each and every time.
Can’t speak to all the low 1 star reviews about rude service because I personally haven’t had any issues. Really love this place for great portion sizes & my entire family loves how shareable everything is :)
The food is ok. I like their side dishes, especially their potatoes are delicious. The service is also ok. They deliver the food really quickly. I hope they put more beef in my soup since I order beef and vegetable soup. I found only a few beef and tons of onion and other vegetables. The price of my food is 10 dollars. Compare to other food on the menu its pretty cheap. However, I know why the price is lower than other foods now. I didn't pay for my meal so I don't know if they demand any tip automatically from the machine. I know that they only accept cash and debit. I feel that there are other Korean restaurants in K-W area that offer better food at cheaper prices.
We ordered 6 dinner plates from them, everything was delicious! Our favorites were the bulgogi and japche, the short ribs with kimchi and potato were also really good. Delivery time and pricing was reasonable too.
This is one of our go to places to eat Korean food when we are craving it. We usually get the kalbi lunch set and bibimbap. Food is always hot and yummy and always makes us feel like we’re back in Korea. Thank you for the great food! Also their potato side dish is soooo addictive! Like I need to know what they put in their to make it sooo good.
Good taste but terrible MV Repost :) They changed new songs!! Wonderful!!
It's abit pricey. Ordered the squid dish and you could count the number of tiny pieces you get. Taste wise ... It's just ok
The food doesn't taste fresh. I love Korean food so much and this is one of the closest Korean restaurants to Waterloo. But I was really disappointed in both the service and the quality of food. It is really overpriced for the quality that you are getting.
The food was mediocre at best, and very expensive given the small portion size. The lady in the front was extremely rude when my friend and I didn't tip, and demanded that we tip before we leave. If you're looking to come to this place, I highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere.
